Apex Legends surpasses 10 million players in just three days
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/apex-legends-surpasses-10-million-players-in-just-three-days/
Apex Legends came out of nowhere and appears to be a really successful free to play title. In just three days, the game has surpassed over 10 million players and has breached 1 million concurrent players.
>> I wonder where those players come from, Fortnite or PUBG?

Axiom Verge is available for free on Epic’s store until February 21st
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/axiom-verge-is-available-for-free-on-epics-store-until-february-21st/
Epic Games and Thomas Happ Games are currently offering for free Axiom Verge on Epic’s digital store. Axiom Verge is an action-platform-exploration game that’s not only created in intricate detail in the style of classics such as Metroid, Contra, and Master Blaster, but uses old-school “glitches” as a gameplay feature.
PC gamers can visit the game’s Epic store page and acquire their free copy. Do note that this free offer will last until February 21st so make sure to get it while you still can (well… that is provided you are interested in it).
>> And it has been crashing for a while as it lacked a file named Steam.xnb .

Thimbleweed Park is the next free game on the Epic Games Store
https://www.pcgamer.com/thimbleweed-park-is-the-next-free-game-on-the-epic-game-store/
If you haven't had the chance to pick it up yet, you're in luck—Thimbleweed Park is the next game to go free on the Epic Games Store for a limited time from February 21 until March 7.
The quirky, point and click murder mystery from the makers of Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion is the latest game to go free on the Epic Games Store in a bid to draw in players from other platforms. What Remains of Edith Finch and Subnautica are just two of the games that have already received the treatment and if you haven't had a chance to grab it yet, Axiom Verge is currently free until February 21.
>> Another one I'll add to my backlog.

You can now play Supreme Commander 2 in co-op with up to four players
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/you-can-now-play-supreme-commander-2-in-co-op-with-up-to-four-players/
Remember Supreme Commander 2? You know, the strategy game that came out in 2010 and featured A LOT of units on screen? Well, for those three people that still remember and play it, modder ‘purplelf’ released a new mod that allows gamers to play the single-player campaign in co-op mode.
According to the modder, most single-player missions can be played with up to four players, with the exception of Illuminate 6 and Cybran 3 which only support up to three players because they require too many AIs.

This Resident Evil 2 Remake mod brings back the classic UI from the original 1998 game
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/this-resident-evil-2-remake-mod-brings-back-the-classic-ui-from-the-original-1998-game/
Resident Evil 2 fans, here is something really cool for you today. Modder ‘Crazy Potato’ has released a pretty cool mod for Resident Evil 2 Remake that brings back the classic UI from the original 1998 version. This mod hits all the nostalgia notes and is a must-have for all Resident Evil 2 fans out there.
Going into slightly more details, this mod adds a retro Health Bar, classic Save Icons, the classic UI and the classic red “Resident Evil 2” logo. These are subtle changes that will be appreciated by the fans of the original game, so go ahead and download the mod from here.
Another mod that passed under our radar was the Classic Claire Fix mod, that was created by the same modder, and gave Claire her iconic look back. You can download this mod for Claire from here.

Enderal: Forgotten Stories, the Skyrim total conversion mod, goes live on Steam next week
https://www.pcgamer.com/enderal-forgotten-stories-the-skyrim-total-conversion-mod-goes-live-on-steam-next-week/
Jody reviewed the Skyrim total conversion mod Enderal back in August 2016, and liked it quite a bit. It wasn't enough to make Bethesda sweat, but he found it big and beefy, with a high quality of writing and better voice acting than you usually see in fan projects. A Steam page appeared last year, promising to eliminate the hassles involved with installing the mod, and today the developers announced that it will go live on February 14.
Like Skyrim, Enderal is an open world game, but with its own lore and landscapes, completely separate from The Elder Scrolls series. Gameplay has been "overhauled" with new classes, survival mechanics, and "challenging combat," and the Forgotten Stories version on Steam has been expanded with two new "crafting classes," 12 additional side quests and non-linear guild questlines, reworked crafting and spells, and improved performance and stability.
Possibly the biggest attraction is that the Steam release vastly simplifies the process of installing the thing. The original mod had to be downloaded and installed overtop of Skyrim, which is both a little daunting and not terribly convenient if you also want to continue playing Skyrim. Enderal: Forgotten Stories is entirely standalone. As long as you own either Skyrim Classic or Skyrim Legendary Edition—it doesn't have to be installed—you can install and play Enderal.

God Eater 3 is now available and does not use the Denuvo anti-tamper tech
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/god-eater-3-is-now-available-and-does-not-use-the-denuvo-anti-tamper-tech/
Now here is a pleasant surprise. Bandai Namco has just released God Eater 3 on the PC and contrary to Ace Combat 7, the game does not use the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. Now I don’t know why this game does not use it and Ace Combat 7 does, however the key point here is that this particular monster hunting game is not plagued by the controversial anti-tamper tech.
