When you have L1 pressed to select a weapon, hold the right stick to have the weapon selected then use the d-pad to select the ammo.

I didn't know until yesterday I had a lantern lol. For all the tutorials it's pretty late in explaining some of the basics.

What the fuck ... I SWEAR I've done that exact thing (I figured it out because of the arrows on the side of the bullet types) and it didn't let me! ... What the heck ...
