So far, Japan looks to be clinging on to its population a lot better than its developed Asian neighbors. And, of course, Japan is already importing semi-skilled labor and skilled labor through temporary work visas (and a lot of them go to Filipinos -- great track record! consider hiring us instead, hmm?)
So, no, Japan does not need to pull a Germany. At least, not as much as its neighbors. Nice try, though.
