Just ignore them and treat people as individuals and they'll fade away if yoy don't feed them. 

I can certainly say I've never dealt with racism, or atleast I don't think that's the reason behind any of the many antagonist I've dealt with. But yeah, white/black/gay/straight/male/female/etc. are all irrelevant labels used by lesser minds. I think the only two that actually matter in terms of judging one's character are asshole and non-asshole.
