There are two factors in this case though that make users like Yong justified in responding and reacting; one being that the person in question was quite simply in the wrong and tried to start some sort of twitter crusade based on sexism accusations when it was in reality absolutely nothing. The other is that gaming press had already sided with the culprit in this case, something they would do unopposed unless youtubers and other influential figures responded. Videos we're seeing are mostly in response to the fact that gaming press are coming to Price's rescue, when they should be damning her volatile tone against the fanbase for absolutely no reason at all. The ones doing the victim blaming is Price herself and her helpers, in the gaming press.

Other than that, I agree with you completely. The firing of the other dude was more strange to me, he was just being ignorant. I think there might be more to this story than we know right now. If Price and her colleague have behaved like this for some time, and off of twitter, I can easily see why the company would want to let them go. Having idiots on the payroll can cost a company dearly, and this is hardly the first time a company fires someone for being stupid in their own spare time.

That's the thing though Mummel, you have to try justifying what one crowd does over the other, which then allows that crowd to move onto the next big fiasco to "justify" ragging on over and over for their own version of justice.

When one person chooses a side and then you clearly have Yong choosing the other, both sides have to in any way shape or form within this reality, have to justify their own actions before and after their speech/rallying. You've got gaming media behind Price, and Yong and other youtubers behind him, two sides that want to justify outright crippling the other.

We've already had videos that talked about the issue days ago, and now we're seeing people late to said news and reporting on it. We get sites like Dtoid who won't post on old news that other sites recently covered, I don't see why other tubers cannot follow that logic (even if I find it incredibly biased and faulty). It's already a known subject by now, so there isn't really a reason for the same exact message being spoken over and over and over again on youtube. If you feel that it has to, then you have to then admit that conflict is desired, which has so far been proven by both parties involved. Conflict is very much wanted from both sides because they both want to cripple the other and serve what they deem "justice". IF one side didn't want any involvement or conflict then it would have moved on by now, but neither side has and likely won't for weeks now.

As much as I dislike her character for how she spoke out against a dead man who died of cancer, I honestly find both the gaming media and youtubers/streamers to be just as deadly with their followers, both of which neither side should have in terms of power. It's obvious we couldn't cripple EA, but it is easier however to cripple a person's life via social media, doxxing and other such actions that can be taken out against them.

I just hope that Yong keeps to his word and doesn't bother posting yet another video on the subject, otherwise he'll just end up becoming yet another tuber I dislike due to their shift in popularity/power and their desire to just ramble on and on at Pol/GG content.
