1st party games should have been the top priority. Until this happens with sustainability, Microsoft cannot be taken seriously as a gamer's platform.

i share your opinion too.

To me, JRPG is a genre, and there are plenty of JRPGs made outside of Japan. And plenty of Japanese studios have made western styled games.

And it’s great that you enjoyed Persona. More power to you.

JRPG is my favorite genre, but i play many other game-genre's too.

Lately, many high quality-games have appeared on PS4 (God Of War, Ni No Kuni 2, Yakuza 6) and in a few weeks the next masterpiece will be released with "Detroit Become Human". That's a big difference between PS4 and Xbox, the theme of variety (great west and japan support). And Sony is investing more in games development - with a lot of effort and high production costs. I miss that completely at microsoft. The good thing is: Phil Spencer has a lot of fun with "God of War" currently, thats cool :D

And this is why MS should always have a place in the industry, for people like me who don’t give a crap about most of those PS4 Japanese games. I couldn’t imagine ever considering a David Cage game to be a masterpiece, but more power to you if you enjoy his games. I checked out permanently after Beyond.

I don’t think anyone can deny Sony puts in more of an effort with software and has a wider global reach which results in a more diverse library. But not everyone cares about that. Plenty of us are more than happy with the stellar third party games this gen. If I’m not going to play Nier or Gravity Rush or Ni No Kuni then PS4 having those games is irrelevant to me. But I do still own a PS4, just for the games I do care about, like God of War.

Like I said earlier in the thread I hope MS does come through with their talk of increasing first party output. Third party games have been incredible but I also enjoyed stuff like Ryse.
