Here's a pretty hilarious take on Ricky Gervais chiming in on Count Dankulas conviction. The author of this is either trying to provoke for clicks or is making points against his own freedom and for his own profession to be restricted. I'm not sure these people on sites like this have editors anymore, they just have free reign to post whatever they want at a whim without thinking. Ironically trained shitposters.

Nick Pettingrew, You are an absolute tit and your post was so hilarious, I barely gave a fuck that you're spreading this shite to your readership.

The two comedy specials I watched recently (Gervais and Chapelle) both touch on how the biggest issue in comedy these days are the sacred cows and offense.  If you want people to feel alien to one another, make it impossible to joke about each other.  I say this as someone who has certain buttons that comedians push, and I understand context and ability to move on.  If you are offended, don't watch and don't support the work of those that offend you.  The leap is to demand no one be able to enjoy them.

The shift I've seen is in the 1990s it seemed to be conservative groups who were the offended by sex, violence, and language "Think of the children!" and were the censors in society.  Now increasingly hear cries from the left about "You can't joke about that!" "Oh, you think X is funny?!" causing tempest in a teacup on twitter.
