Know quite a few vegetarians and vegans (not surprising when you're in a Literature and Languages faculty). I've been vegetarian for about a year, but that didn't work out too well. I'm too much of a Burgundian to completely renounce meat.

On the other hand, it would be healthy and good if we all ate less meat. It's one thing to eat meat as part of your main course multiple times a week, but eating meat at breakfast and interbetween as well is actually way too much (even though I still do so too from time to time).

If laws concerning animal welfare and meat production would be stricter, meat would be more expensive, but also much higher quality.

And finaly, industrial scale meat production is enourmously taxing for the enviroment.
