Just going to point out the obvious in that you linked to LG to discuss OLED reliability, as if they aren't going to be obscenely biased.

Here's a link from an actual burn-in test that is still ongoing from a website that legitimately doesn't care which TV is the best, since they make money from any links used to buy TV's:

http://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/permanent-image-retention-burn-in-lcd-oled

Good link. It tells me enough on the LG link they talk about different options to try to fix the problems they claim aren't a big deal, while at the bottom washing their hands from it "Reasonable, responsible usage of an OLED TV, combined with powerful image preservation abilities should result in a seamless home entertainment experience" Don't let your kids touch it!

My experience with Plasma was that it will eventually wear out the same to 'fix' the problem. (The black bars on the side from 4:3 content were very visible, took months in zoom mode to 'fix' that) However that also tells you that your tv is basically slowly wearing out from day one... It's interesting to follow that peak brightness and color graph. They're only at 1300 hours so far, that would be less than 4 months in my house.
