Why do young adults walk around loudly rapping to themselves?

young enough to still be a normal thing, 12 years. but seeing how my sister is 35 and still doing it. or constantly buying new clothes, car or smartphone to shove it in strangers faces ..

edit: right now my nephew pushes my sister to buy him a new computer, expensive mic and cam so he can start his minecraft youtbube carrier lol. atleast he tinkers with tools to create a own server, webpage, java and  videos.. that might help him in the future
