I feel similar about this. The more I hear about that Weinstein story, the more I get the impression that Weinstein's behaviour (or at least rumours about it) was very well known in Hollywood.
And yet it seems that hardly anyone ever actually tried to do something against it, even if it was just publically accusing Weinstein.
By not actually doing something against Weinstein, Weinstein's victims (and all the other people who knew what Weinstein was doing) in a way also became partly responsible for what he did to all the women that later became Weinstein's victims.
On the other hand, I can partly understand why female actresses acted like this. Many women who dreamed of becoming Hollywood stars were faced with a hard decision: Do Weinstein a little sexual favour and vastly improve your chances of getting a role - or go to the police/openly accuse him, and in turn bury your dream of becoming an actress forever + risk being destroyed by lawyers for not being able to prove your claims.
Anyway, it's shocking that Weinstein could act like this for decades, with everyone knowing about, but nobody doing anything against it.
