Both works with the same technology (Quantum Dot) but improved technology with a really big improve on brightness, so is no big differece in picture quality and I don't remember exactly why they change the name, it's more like a SUHD 2.0.

It went the way of not being like OLED at all. They might get closer in color range but contrast and the usual terrible side effects of backlit panels stays. Unless it is OLED it is not even close to OLED.
