Now, it's time for me to make a thread trying to create discussion out of something extremely mundane However, personally I have something against people without avatars, it just feel like they have a piece of individuality missing. Soundwave, Snoopy, Lawlight, Palou, o_O.Q, none of them have avatars, and as a result I'd say that they have not been able to reach the characterization that they could.

Now, some people stick with avys for long periods of time. Acevil is an example of somebody that has had the same one for years upon years. Others go with a certain theme: BraLoD with Legend of Dragoon characters, Ka-pi with bears and Cloudman with his drawings. There are yet others who do not stick with any one avatar for long, such is the case for users like Versus_Evil and AngryLittleAlchemist. I had a flag avatar for years, before going with Chun-Li avatars that I assume I'm now associated with.

I'd say that one's avatar also affects how people view others. I've had people vote for me in the PS Nation thread because of my avy, and I've been called "dear Chun-Li" before on this site site (which I don't mind by the way, I just find it interesting ). So, on a forum where we don't know each other personally, and where we don't know how each other look, avatars I guess form a visualization of that person, regardless of how close the person actually resembles the avatar.

So guys, any thoughts on this? Is this even something that is worth discussing? I guess it was just a shower thought that I had.
