I don't think he's suggesting that it's bad by any means. But that first year sales for a system estimated to be 10~12m by Nintendo probably wouldn't surpass what could be the peak year of another console.

Yeah. In general anyone thinking it could would be fooling themselves. Don't most consoles have their most successful year on their 3rd - 4th year?
