So far, I don't really have much of an issue with weapon durability, though having a limited inventory really does make it harder to work around..

Sort of need a torch, a deku leaf and a hammer as sides so that is already 3 slots used :/

You need to think broader.

You don't need a torch because any weapon made of wood can work like a torch. The deku leaf is very situational, can be loot from felling trees and at times can be found near spots where you need one; it's hardly worth it to keep one permanently. The hammer doesn't do anything special; two-handed swords work for ore-mining just the same (one hit) and they are better weapons because they have higher attack power.

Also worth noting, you can turn normal arrows into fire arrows by holding them into a fire source while preparing for a shot, so there's not even much of a reason to have a wooden weapon with you. Then there are the actual fire arrows, but they should only be used if there's no other option, because they are hard to come by. You can create a fireplace by dropping firewood and a firestone on the ground, then hitting the firestone with a metallic weapon.

Need to get further in the game to find out these things for myself :p

Only started playing a couple of days ago so a lot to explore since I pretty much went on a Zelda news blackout
