Yes, they are worth more unopened.  But I pay to play.  This whole collectibles for monetary gain is something I did back in the 80s and 90s.

 

Same here. I think I have more amiibo out of packaging than I do new in box. It's Nintendo's evil little peice of tinfoil they put under the amiibo so you cant scan them unless you open them. Pure evil.

Going off topic, I have a Peach and Samus Amiibo just because.
