3DS has certainly begun to reach it's saturation point in Japan.
2011-4.3 million
2012-5.5 million
2013-5.1 million
2014-3.2 million
2015-2.2 million
2016-2.0 million
2017 sales will likely be under 1.5 million and the 15 million people who bought a 3DS in 2011-2013 are likely ready to upgrade.
