And lastly, it's about time they got rid of the Gym mechanic, it got boring and stale very quickly. Gym battles didn't even feel special: Gym Leaders were just slightly stronger than ordinary trainers. There's really nothing good about gyms: they're just trainer battles... And there's still plenty of trainer battles left in the game. The Trials offer new gameplay elements and more diversity: it's something that's radically different compared to standard trainer battles, so it stands out more. It leaves more of an impression on the player. The concept of Gyms should have been abandonned after the second generation.

I'm only gonna reply to this part and go to bed because I was done with this discussion already anyways.

You're wrong about gyms being boring and something that should have been changed long ago. If you truly think that way, then I'm sorry to say it but you never liked Pokémon. Pokémon was always about the battles. You catch them, you raise them, you trade them, whatever you do - it was always to end up duking it out in Pokémon battles. That's what Pokémon was always about, and hopefully will always be about. The gyms were the big moments where you had to prove you got better at battling, and had the strongest trainers around.

Pokémon was never about running around and taking pictures. That's fine as an extra feature, but it doesn't mean it should replace gyms forever. Even then, I do believe it's an interesting change for one game specifically - however, the gyms should (and will) return, because they are the essence of what Pokémon is.

And that's exactly where gyms failed: they weren't/aren't big moments. I have never lost to a gym leader, I have never even struggled against one... I can one hit most of their Pokémon easily because they have retarded A.I. and only use one type which means you can just spam the same moves to win instantly. You act like gym battles are like boss battles in a God of Wars game. There's NOTHING that differentiates gym battles from ordinary battles. That's why they need to get rid of them forever... You still BATTLE during Trials by the way, but now they're actually memorable moments. I honestly don't see the problem.

Gyms suck ass and that's the truth. If you considered gym battles big moments then I don't know what to tell you honestly. Who said trials was all about running around and taking pictures anyway? That was one trial in the demo...

Gyms aren't the essence of Pokémon at all, it's what's holding the franchise back.
