World of FF is a very confused product.
It's being presented as a game for kids or younger gamers, but it tries to work off of a nostalgia that only older gamers would really have, while attempting to be some weird blend between Pokemon/DQM/YW without any of the iconic appeal of the monsters for said children (and there's no multi-media campaign or even marketting attempt to change that), and is on platforms* with next to none of the former audience.
*Vita actually has a good demographic there, so that means the product isn't really resonating or the audience really isn't interested in anything other than Minecraft or Minecraft-like games like DQB.
