I can totally see Sony using the 8Tf card in 2018 if the Scorpio actually sells well.
The problem with expensive consoles is that you better have the exclusives to back your system up, otherwise you are simply competing against custom computers that will probably perform better at a lower cost and that don't require a monthly subscription.
To wrap up, the PS5's existence is conditioned to whether or not Scorpio delivers.
