Because US is a Capitalist state that have been Hijacked and controlled by Corporatism who unfortunately can't legally sell weed as a competing product like what you can do with Alcohol and weed is alcohol's biggest enemy. So keep Weed illegal (Profits by illegal means) and that will keep the alcohol business alive (Profits by legal means) Freedom is only Worth it if you can profit from it, cause money is true power.
