In other words, PSN and Live should be apps available on all sorts of hardware not locked away and forced to buy hardware you dont want. Sony and Microsoft can spend there billions on making games instead of designing weak hardware.

But Steam isn't an app that's available to all sorts of hardware. If I wanted to use it, I'd be forced to buy a PC which is hardware that I don't want to buy.
