The Biggest oppening for a Persona game, was a little more than 200 Thousands first week on Japan, this is a Strong franchise there, look at how many games struggle to make it on Germany, and UK, the other biggest markets for gaming, Comparing this with a New brand release, Persona 5 (that will be bigger than Persona 4), is on the Same size for Japan, than Far Cry 4, for Germany, and UK, with all the Versions of Far Cry 4(PC, PS3, XBOX  360, PS4, Xbox One) on UK, it sold nearly 200 Thousands, same for Germany, and the biggest oppening for the series of Persona, was 200K.

So you want to say if Something like Far Cry 4, launch exclusive for Germany, or UK, it would not sell Hardware ?, wtf.

People purchase consoles because of the games, and because PS4, is getting a lot of japanese games this year, the sales had a  YOY Growth, i don't know who said that PS4, will only sell 3-4 Millions Life-time on Japan, with Final Fantasy 15, Dragon Quest 11, and Persona 5, it mighty break 4 Millions before the end of the year on Japan.

None of that will sell enough hardware to get PS4 to sell 10.4m lifetime. It doesn't matter how strong the franchises are. MK8 is a much stronger franchise than all of those, and it didn't help the Wii U. P5 is also out on PS3 meaning people don't have to upgrade, DQ11 will be out on the vastly more popular 3DS over there, and FF15 won't help enough to get it over 10m.

The Persona 5's Playstation 3 version, will not hold too much the PS4 Version, look for Dragon Quest Builders, and for the last Yakuza, the games are now selling more on Playstation 4, than Playstation 3.

Dragon quest 11, will be avaliable for Nintendo 3DS, but will also be avaliable for Playstation 4, they have 20 Millions of Nintendo 3DS in japan, if anyone want  the Console version, that of course will have more to ofer than the Handheld, they will, this still a game that will move Systems, and Mario Kart, isn't the Most Popular franchise between Dragon Quest, and Final Fantasy, both Final Fantasy, and Dragon Quest, are bigger on Japan,

the Mario Kart, sold 1.21Millions on japan according to VG Chartz,

the one before that sold 2.62,

and before that sold 3.79.

Now Dragon Quest X ( a MMORPG) sold more than 1 Million of Copies on Japan, now lets focus on the last 3 Non-MMORPG main entries.

 

Dragon Quest IX, 4.35 Millions.

Dragon Quest Viii, 4,26 Millions

Dragon Quest Vii 5.40 Millions.

 

Final Fantasy Xiii, 1.88 Millions

Final Fantasy Xii, 2.87 Millions

Final Fantasy X, 3 Millions.

And the Next Final Fantasy, will be better than FFXIII, don't know if will surpass the others, but will atleast sell more than FFXIII, we already are 7 Years without Final Fantasy, while the time between FFXII, and FFXIII, was just 3 Years, so is atleast 2 Millions.

Mario Kart, is weaker on Japan than Final Fantasy, and Dragon Quest, i don't know where to you got those "MK, a much stronger franchise than Thoses", maybe you are using Worldwide numbers, but for Japan, Dragon Quest, and Final Fantasy, are the kings of the Home console market since the 90s.

 

Final Fantasy, of course will sell more on the next game, (is on number 1-2 on Famitsu research of Most awaited games of the Japanese Gamers), even if Dragon Quest, have a drop on Sales, will be greater than 3 Millions, and is Atleast a 1-1.5 Million seller for Playstation 4 in Japan.

Persona 5, was also high awaited in the Research, so will of course be the Biggest in the Series, braking the 200 Thousands  first Week sales on Japan, but if will hit 1 Million, only time will tell.

Before Splatoon, Final Fantasy XIII, was the only game on Japan, to launch and break 1 Millions of units sold in the same year, so was 6 Years before someone could take it from Final Fantasy, and you say that Mario Kart,  is a much more stronger franchise Inside the Japan ?, Square Enix, is the Queen of Japan.
