How much media can be viewed in 4K at this point? Games definitely not, blu-ray nope, cable television I don't think so. Is Netflix in 4K? Are other video services in 4K?

To each their own, but I wouldn't get one until the stuff your watching is readily available at that resolution.

EDIT: If your thinking about the PS5....why not wait until its released?  You'll actually know if it can do 4K, and prices of the TVs should (theoretically) drop by then.

Games: HDMI 2.0 now GTX 980 ti, HDR soon http://www.fudzilla.com/news/graphics/39423-radeon-2016-gpus-supports-hdmi-2-0a-dp-1-3-and-hdr
Blu-ray: About 26 available on Amazon (4K Ultra HD)
Cable TV: My cable provider has one 4k sports channel. Too bad i don't watch sports.
Netflix: Yes. Too bad I can hardly watch Netflix in HD, streaming a constant 15.6 mbps and on a capped internet, forget it.
Other video services: Yes.

But indeed, readily available No. And blu-ray already has a bandwidth for picture up to 40 mbps. 4K streaming looks sharper in slow scenes, while blu-ray inevitably holds up better during action sequences.

I was first to upgrade to full HD, and that 2006 52" 1080p TV is getting on in years. Yet I don't feel the same excitement this time.
Maybe cause I just bought a HD ready tv 4 years earlier which wasn't all that ready after all. I'm extra cautious this time.
