So the direct will be about games launching through this summer.
Officially, we still dont even know when Zelda U will gets released. There is no official confirmation for a holiday 2016 release.
The game should be finished by end of 2015, they said they needed some more time. Half year delay could be possible.
Nintendo also released Mario Kart 8 in summer.
Games like Witcher 3 which was scheduled for an holiday 2014 release (also big open world game with similar setting) which got delayed as well was released in summer after delay.
So a 6 month delay could be possible if they thought dec.2014 the game could be finished in 2015.
