2017 seems too early but 2018 wouldn't be in the middle of the PS4's reign. No more then 2005 was for the PS2. It would do Microsoft no favours to wait to launch alongside the the PS5. Also people seem to be expecting very typical console generations going forward and I think thats unlikely, especially from Microsoft and their new cross play PC/Xbox initiative.
