Gone home is pathetic but this game looks fun.

Gone home is pathethic because it's literally 5 minutes long, this game at least has some artwork and cool loking environments to... walk around.

No.

In gone home every room is plenty of interesting elements to interact with and analyze in order to learn about an engaging story that makes you feel an incredible nostalgia for the early nineties, in gone home you don´t have to walk miles to find something interesting as everything happens in the same house and every room has something interesting,  in gone home you learn about the characters very deeply, you actually care about this family because it makes you get inside their secrets, their personality, motivations, their past, you almost feel part of the house for a moment, and in Gone Home you feel a wild variety of feelings in your 2 - 3 hours (not 5 minutes).

However in Everyone is gone to the rapture the only thing you do is walk and listen other people stories, there is almost no interactivity at all, to find something interesting you need to walk and walk and walk because everything is too big and empty so you are bored half of the game, you listenstories from characters that you don´t know and you don´t care at all, not only because they are assholes, but because you only see little glimpses of their lives and that´s it, you never connect with anyone, in Everybody is gone to the rapture there is a heavy backtracking that makes you walk even more in a game where you spend all time... walking, and the game has exactly the same tone from the beginning to the end, making it boring as hell at the first 2 hours.

Gone home and The stanley parable are the 2 best walking simulators ever made, as they are really genious making the player engaged with a really well written story, with a sense of interactivity and without any boring moments, Everyone Is Gone to The Rapture is like Dear Esther, boring and pretentious, you walk and hear voices from people that you either dont understand or don´t care at all, and that´s it, most of the pleasure of the game comes exclusively from the graphic quality.
