You know what. Don't look at the HIGHEST RATED GAME as THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIME. Games aren't reviewed for all time are they? So why say the game is going to be the best game of all time when you know a future game will eventually replace it. Instead say it is the BEST GAME FOR ITS TIME. That would be more correct. It would also make this thread / and I would love that.

I agree 100%, and that's what I was trying to say when I got flamed (in my other post). :)

I believe this is the first time I've used this word on this forum, but you were flamed because you're a fanboy. Your reasons and deductions are ludicrous. Your aggressive nature towards the game in question is obvious.

You have been trumpeting GTA IV since the day the reviews started to leak out. You eventually realized that people weren't so readily going to accept it as the Second Coming and became deathly afraid of that fact when you realized what was blocking that road: Ocarina of Time. From that point you have done nothing but crusade against that game in thread after thread.

You talk about getting flamed as if you didn't bring it on yourself. Zelda as a franchise is over 20 years old and Ocarina of Time has had nearly a decade to sink into gaming history as an important part of it. It should come as no surprise to you that it has a loyal fanbase, and yet you tease and aggravate them like a fool poking a hungry lion with a tree branch. You have made threads for the sole purpose of trying to force your opinion of GTA and OoT down people's throats, using analogies and conclusions that, quite frankly, don't make any amount of sense. When you fail to change the world, you start the process all over again. When backed into a corner, you continue to cry and complain about the earlier lashings you recieved before, of course ignoring the fact that you brought it on yourself.

I think you very well knew that the review you were talking about had no relevance to GTA IV. I think that instead, you thought the OoT fans wouldn't be smart or perceptive enough to catch your bluff, possibly attempting to back down or apologize for this since you haven't been able to make any progress yourself in the slightest. When caught, you predictably back into the corner, pretending to be the victim. "The OoT fanboys are rabid! Make them stop! They are flaming me!"

I think there are so rabid OoT fanboys out there, but at the moment I would say that we have one rabid GTA IV fan too many.

That's funny. I think you completely misunderstand me all together. I don't care about GTA4, and I don't care about OoT. What I think is funny, is a game comes out, gets higher scores then a 10 year old game,. and people say that the ten year old game is a better game.

I totally disagree with that philosophy. It just happens to be that the game today is GTA4, and the game from ten years ago was OoT. If the argument was GTA1 got a perfect score 10 years ago, and the latest Zelda got a 10 and people were coming out of the woodwork to compare it to a 10 year old game, I would be having this same discussion about Zelda.

The gaming industry advances. We expect more every year out of a game, and every year we get more. The games get longer, the stories get better, the technology improves, and the budgets grow.

Because there is a lot of money to be made, a lot of bad games are made, but the best games of today are just better then the best games of yesterday. I played the shit out of Archon in 1983, and here 25 years later I can still remember playing it. But that does not mean it holds a candle to OoT, or GTA4, or any good game released in the last 10 years.

That's just my opinion, your free to have your own. But for me, todays cars are better then yesterdays cars. Todays great movies are better then yesterdays great movies. Today's computers are better then yesterdays computers, and todays games are better then yesterdays games.

Tomorrows advancements will be better then todays.

No way man.  Give me a 1956 Bel Air any day.  Also i haven't seen a "great" movie that's came out in the last 10 years or so either... like one that will go down in history as a definite classic.

Computers yeah.  However computers really have no art to them like cars, movies or games.
