The second most essential part of a video game are graphics, because without them you can't have a video game. That's what it comes down to when you break down video games to their fundamentals. Everything else augments the experience, but they are by no means absolutely essential. |
Like for example Myst? Gameplay is definitely not the most important thing in Myst.
