Honestly I don't think they even have enough for more than 4 years of solid support. Both the GameCube and Wii fizzled out in terms of software support after year 4.

Also, If I recall correctly, the Super Nintendo in 1996, its fifth year (N64 was released for Christmas of that year) only had Donkey Kong Country 3 made by Rare, Super Mario RPG made by Square, and Kirby Super Star made by Hal.

So, Nintendo itself has always had a hard time supporting its console in its fifth year. And with the SNES it wasnt so bad because it had third party games, Capcom released Mega Man X3, Final Fight 3 and Street Fighter Alpha 2 on SNES that year.

 

I am pretty sure the new console will be released in the fifth year, 2017, and that year we may get only 2 or 3 new Wii U games + some gamecube remasters.
