The hard truth is that without 3rd party support Nintendo can't compete in the console space anymore, and I don't see them getting publishers back on board. Some will label me a Nintendo hater, but that isn't entirely true. I just don't see any logical reason Nintendo going 3rd party wouldn't benefit everyone.

And you do realize that all the best non violent games sell best on Nintendo consoles and don't sell well on other consoles, therefore, Nintendo have a markewt on their own console and have a tiny market on other consoles, where the best sellers are violent games. On a Nintendo console, they know the architecture and they know what they can do. They also have a direct link to people who in fact bought a Nintendo console and want Nintendo games. You are suggesting they pack that in and throw their games onto consoles where the best sellers are all violent.

I agree. Most of Nintendo games which sell very good on Nintendo consoles would not sell nearly as good on other platforms. I can't see Nintendo as a 3rd party developer, that would be the end of Nintendo.

It's lilke selling beer at a baseball game compared to selling beer at a Beiber concert. Many people went to the baseball game to only drink beer. Others will enjoy baseball and most will drink a beer. Sure, some at the beiber concert can drink beer or will drink beer, but not like beer at a Baseball game which is famous for beer drinkers.
Similarly, it's like selling paintings (software) at a specialized painting store (console). Sure, Walmart sell paintings too, but the main reason people went to the specific painting store was for A PAINTING THAT YOU COULD ONLY GET THERE. Now if Walmart (oyther consoles)could get their hands on those paintings (Nintendo games), not only would the painting store not do well and go out of business (nintendo's console would disappear), but the paintings would be awash in a sea of other paintings in a store that people don't go to, in order to buy their specilaized paintings (nintendo games).
Now, do you understand, or should someone ask again? Why don't Nintendo go 3rd party? :P
