I don't think there is a fair way to describe what factors would drive Nintendo to choose the timing of its next console release in relation to the next Playstation. Since Nintendo can choose their own path I think it will be sooner than the other major console makers. I imagine they will keep the current peripherals (perhaps adding new ones, as usual) and just sell a powerful base unit that will be competitively priced.
