It really feels like it wouldn't matter what Nintendo did, you'd just say it doesn't matter because it's Nintendo and this isn't the 90's. And really, 3DS isn't all that short of GBA gamewise. Also I just noticed that 6 of those games you mentioned are tactical RPGs, and the rest are RPG remakes. So much going for it, I see. If your definition of success is number of tactical RPGs, then fine, I guess GBA wins for you, but I don't define it that way. |
I have to say I agree. Also 3DS is impressing me in ways no Nintendo handheld has ever before. I'm not hating on the GameBoy brand or the original DS's, but the 3DS is just a wonderful piece of hardware and really makes the most of handheld technology. Also the software is superb, and it's impressive to see how well everything looks on the small screens. Also comparing games, Fire Emblem Awakening>all GBA entries, TLoZ:ALBW>Minish Cap, Mario Kart 7>Mario Kart Super Circuit, etc. Saying that, I do think the Pokemon spinoffs (e.g. Mystery Dungeon) and this new crap they tried (Rumble Blast) don't compare to any Pokemon title released on GBA. Also X & Y aren't nearly as good as Hoenn, but we've got these sweet remakes from that gen so I guess it's all cool. (X and Y are still awesome)
