Looking at Bayonetta 2, I'd wager assets were recycled which is a cost-cutting measure. This is no replacement for hard numbers by any measure but it's something to think about. It's the same idea behind Majora's Mask which was released about 1.5 years after Ocarina of Time. |
Big difference is Majora's Mask came out in the Middle of the End of N64s cycle.
What interesting about this is it sold 38-39k copies in two days, and thats about 19400 copies a day. What happens if it keeps selling about 19,400 copies a day for a week? It would be close to 136k in a week span. Those numbers are not too shabby ESPECIALLY in a country where Console gaming is dying. Albeit that's a big IF but I think we should AT least give it a week before we jump the gun here.
Also, remember the original Bayonetta came out when Consoles were more popular in Japan (October 2009 to be exact), it only makes sense it sold more 5 years ago than now where Handheld and Mobile gaming are King in Japan. Hence that's why the two games that are ahead of it are Handheld games.
