Damn it..  I will get you later! Now I'm too tired thanks to the gym!

Ok, dude, here it is.  As promised, here is the "exclusives" data.  Well, not quite.  The lists themselves still require some sorting.  But I figured that in the meantime, I could post the breakdown.  Frankly, it'll take you a while to wrap your head around it anyway.  I realize it's pretty "wordy" in places but I swear I'm not trying to complicate things.  Though, I am trying to be as thorough as possible and cover the entire spectrum.

The first thing I need to make clear is that this only examines Sony and Microsoft, and only games on their current-gen consoles.  Sorry for not including other platforms but this is complicated enough as it is.

Now, there is only one fundamental rule that every game on this list must follow: It must be on one of the two current-gen consoles and not on the other.

In other words, it must fit into one of the following scenarios.  It must either be available...

On the PS4 but not the XB1

Or

On the XB1 but not the PS4

That's it.  If a game meets this condition (with a few possible exceptions - see below), it qualifies for the list.  Now, that may seem like a loose definition of "exclusive", and it is.  That's deliberate.  The idea is to include every possible permutation, from the strictest interpretation of the word to the most casual.

Does it only count as "exclusive" if it's on one platform and nothing else (like, say, PS4 only)?  Does it still count if it's on multiple platforms but they're all owned by the same company (XB1/360/Win)?  What if it's only on one console, but it's also on one or more non-console platforms owned by their competitor (PS4/Win)?  Can a game on a current-gen console possibly still be considered "exclusive" if it's not on the console's direct rival but it is on their last-gen rival (like, say, PS4 and 360 but not XB1)?  All of these possibilities (and everything in between) will be included and categorized as appropriate.

For the record, this is just a presentation of the data; it's not an attempt to make an actual judgment call as to where the cutoff is between "exclusive" and "not exclusive".  The idea is to map out the spectrum from "most exclusive" to "least exclusive", if that makes sense.

Regarding the exceptions mentioned above...

Timed exclusives which are coming to both consoles are not included on the list.  If a timed exclusive is coming to other platforms but not the relevant rival console then it may still be included.  However, if it is known for sure that a timed exclusive is planned to release on both the PS4 and XB1 then it will not be included.

And another possible exception which is a bit of a grey area.  While researching this, I've seen several games turn up on one or the other current-gen console which appear to be just repacks of last-gen multiplats.  From what I've read, it sounds like they basically take the game, pack in all the DLC, call it something like "Ultimate Edition", and sell it on one of the current-gen consoles.

I'm uncertain what to do with these.  But for the time being, I'm thinking of including them on the list (as long as they are only on one of the current-gen consoles, they still technically qualify) but placing them in one of the "lower tiers" depending on what other platforms they're available on, and perhaps also making a note of this next to them.

Ok, I think that's everything.  If you've made it this far, well done!  Now for the breakdown.  Remember, what I'm posting here is just the template; I'm still organizing the actual lists of titles.

First, there are two primary lists...

Games on XB1 but not PS4

And

Games on PS4 but not XB1

That's pretty straightforward.  I hope you're still with me.

Now, each of these lists is broken down into four basic categories...

Games on XB1 but not PS4

1. Not on any competing platform

2. Not on any Sony platform

3. Not on any Playstation console

4. Not on the PS4

Games on PS4 but not XB1

1. Not on any competing platform

2. Not on any Microsoft platform

3. Not on any Xbox console

4. Not on the XB1

Still with me?  Basically, it's a breakdown of content from "most exclusive" to "least exclusive" (I realize those terms are a grammatical nightmare, but hopefully my meaning is clear).  It begins with content that is truly exclusive to the relevant console, and gradually expands to encompass more and more, until it is listing content that's available on pretty much everything but the rival console.

So, if you've managed to follow me this far then take a deep breath... because it's about to get worse.

Each of these four categories (1, 2, 3 and 4) are broken down into multiple subcategories.  These are listed as 1A, 1B, 1C... 2A, 2B, 2C... and so on.  Each of these further breaks down the broader category into smaller, more specific groups which, I hope, will be self-explanatory.  And that's the final template.  Two primary lists, four categories, each with subcategories.

And regarding those subcategories, I've make them as simple as I can but, in some places, it's very difficult to convey the specific conditions concisely.  I really have tried to make the descriptions as brief as possible but I also don't want to leave anything out as, in some cases, the difference between two distinct categories can be subtle.

So, with all of that explained and understood (I hope ), here is the final template for the breakdown...
