The planet Erioch was a quiet, barren world before the Terrans came.  There were few indiginous lifeforms and even fewer who were interested in becoming such, let alone the Terrans.  However after tectonic shift in the planet's upper hemisphere along its largest continent, a Terran science vessel passing through the system detected some strange signatures coming from beneath the planet's surface.  Many years later what had been a barren world now had a fully operational Terran colony whose primary function was to research the ruins uncovered deep within the planet.

The research went very well.  Long lost ruins of the ancient Xel'naga were found by Terran scientists.  In fact, the scientists discovered a fully intact member of the long dead Xel'naga people.  Upon this discovery there was much celebration.  The technology they could inherit from the mighty Xel'naga could end the conflict the galaxy had been facing once and for all.  However, on one terrible night a piece of equipment malfunctioned during a comm between the colony and another Terran facility.  This piece of equipment caused the comm to be broadcast on all frequencies for anyone who might be listening to hear.

What had been a quiet research outpost turned went into a frenzy of activity as such information would soon attract unwanted attention and the Terrans had to be prepared to defend it at all costs.

So it was that one day a young space marine woman named Erin was yawning in her suit, holding her rifle, and happy that it was another quiet evening.  She blinked sleepily and looked down at her armor.  The helmet didn't give her the greatest view of her surroundings.  It relied on computer images far more than the eyes which, while good in a firefight, wasn't so good for just looking around normally.  Despite that, as she looked down at her armor something occurred to her.  Something was a little... off.  She didn't wear red today.  Horror suddenly dawned on her and she looked at the red beam coming from far out in the distance only briefly before opening up a comm to the watch commander.

The facility had just been marked for a nuclear strike.

Nuclear detonation occurs on Day 5.  Four days remain.

All facility occupants ( players ) will die on Day 5 if the perpetrator is not caught and killed before then.

Day 1 begin.
