I entirely disagree with the delusional article. It can only come from an excessive positive guy who likes Nintendo. The truth however is completely opposite. The article says things like:

1) It's ok because Nintendo has money.
No, it's not ok. Companies are here to make money, when then don't then they have a problem. If it was OK in any sense, why they struggle so much to win?

2) The lack of third party does't improve quality or quantity of first party games.
Actually, Nintendo has a historic of doing a lot of great games despite the amount of hardware sales, just take a look at GameCube and N64. The reason why they these two consoles failed? All multiplatforms were in PlayStations which improved the console library so much that most people didn't really see a reason to purchase a Nintendo. And like people said, PS3 is a good example of unique games + multiple. Wii is another case, due to his weak hardware, it had an unique library and good sales, but that's something hard to replicate on Wii U.

3) Patience is not a virtue
Every company is fighting hard to win money because they simply can't wait. Sony is deciding what to do with Vita, Xbox is trying to compete with PS4 and so on.

Now my personal view:
4) It creates arrogance on Nintendo fans
Nintendo does not have a very good historic with 3rd party, actually they are quite arrogant about. It's not that 3rd party does not like Nintendo, quite the opposite, both Platinum and Ubisoft are being very supportive. But the fans simply don't buy 3rd party software because they think it's not needed. With so much people buying exclusively for Nintendo games, there's not much reason for 3rd to invest on console, furthering the problems of hardware sales.
