Am I the only person on VGC who sees value in all 3 console makers?

Nope. I think they all have some great qualities but I do however think that Nintendo at this point is the weakest in terms of overall console experience. It is limited to decent to great first party titles. They get little to no real third party support these days because they are always looking to build the cheapest (in manufacturing cost not necessarily consumer pricing) consoles that underperform the rival boxes and offer nothing that is not available elsewhere. Motion controls? Available on Xbox and Playstation. Second screen tablet functionality or remote play capabilities? Available on XBox and Playstation.

Nintendo doesn't need it's own console to make great games. For the life of me I just don't understand why Nintendo fans just can't seem to let go of the fact that Nintendo is increasingly becoming irrelevant in the home console market and needs to shift to third party status so that they can start making their games for the masses at large again. Its not a postion of shame or denegration of Nintendo or it's memory etc. As a third party dev Nintendo would make a killing in the Activiison/EA vein. And please don't tell me look at what happened to Sega. Sega was no where near as diversified as Nintendo nor did they have the same cache as far as IPs go. I loved Sonic but compared to Mario? No contest.

As someone who hasn't owned a Nintendo console since N64 (the last time I was a three home console owner PS1, N64, Saturn) I miss some of those venerable Nintendo franchises but I am just not willing to forgo all the great third party etc. games available on other platforms to own a Nintendo console for a few great but rehashed franchises nor am I willing to crowd my entertainment center with that many console boxes any more. I'd say the same of ANY of the three current console makers if they were in the same position as Ninty at this point.

So for many of us it comes down to a choice and more and more Nintendo is losing out when those choices are made. To me third party in the home console market just makes more sense.
