No matter how good the PS4 seemed to sell a few weeks, the facts are: X1 is very close in sales to PS4 in the US X360 was very strong last generation in US and UK, and latest charts show that it's still the case While selling less units Titanfall still managed to sell a lot more than Infamous did, or any other game, this encourages devs to devel exclusively for X1, as their games sell a lot better there. |
X1 is not close. The gap in the US is larger than 500k. BenV hinted that in May, the gap is very large. We're talking a 100k+ gap for May, so that'll make the gap 600k+. That is not small at all! The X1 couldn't even outsell the PS4 when riding the Titanfall hype train. Even if the X1 managed to outsell the PS4 in June, the gap will be incredibly small (e.g. 20k). After that, the PS4 will resuming outselling the X1 because there's nothing else that justfies purchasing an X1.
But hey, let's just pretend that the X1 outsells the PS4 10k each week for the rest of 2014. 7 months = 28 weeks, so the X1 will shrink the gap by 280k. That's LESS than HALF of the 600k+ gap.
360's performance is not indicative of how the X1 will do. We have already seen that now that the PS4 is leading the X1, outselling it every month except for December because of supply constraints. Also, the 360's numbers were inflated by RROD. Before MS offered extended warranties, the 11.6 million 360's sold prior to the extension were already faulty.
Titanfall is a cross-platform game. Its sales benefit from PC and 360. Your argument is invalid.
