Metacritic has no effect on my gaming purchases whatsoever. I tend to see what is being said on forums or check it out myself on YouTube.
The problem with Mettacritic is no one knows how they calculate numbers. It is not a simple average as some review scores are given more weight. No one outside of metacritic knows the secret sauce.
