Yea but how do you make triggers portable? The reason that the vita and 3ds and any tablet thats ment to go out of your house doesn't have triggers is that it gets in the way of portability... They need some sort of magical fairy dust to make that happen and they can't afford not to if they are targetting the home console market as well

Think of the R&D that goes into a handheld. Think money.

Now think of the R&D that goes into a home console. Again, $$$.

Now think about what can happen when you combine those two $$$ into 1 device.

Then think about how loss-leading would make sense with twice the software output.

Triggers, they become a non-issue with that in mind. They can find a way to make triggers happen.

As an example, they can make their games playable in any way desired (kind of like how you can play SM3DW with any controller style you like). You can play a game in tablet form, it won't be super ergonomic. You can get an accessory to encase the console, which has some kind of foldable setup so it fits nicely in your pocket, it includes triggers. The large screen gets split in two for portable use, but when you're at home the whole screen is used, and the TV embodies the 2nd screen. With proliferation of screens in the short future, a second screen with stand (like the ipad cover) could be made available. This is what I see happening. Some kind of transformer handheld that has awesome enough graphics to be used as a home console.

Have you seen Infinity Blade III for the iPhone 5s?

Yea, but the issue with combining two into one is also that if that one device fails, you have no other method of income... This is specially true for Nintendo... Sony has mobile and TV and etc for income, MS has Windows and royalties for Income but if Nintendo combines handheld and home console into one and no one likes it... They are literily dead in the water...

At least for the gamecube and wiiU, they have the ds and 3ds for some source of income to keep the company going but with a combined console, it has a higher chance of success but also a big risk of failure and I think that the consequences of failure would far outway the advantages of success... Specially since after this genenation, Nintendo will have virtually no competition in the handheld space... And if their next console is like another wii level of success, then they will have so much money that it will be crazy but if their home console fails, at least their handheld can keep them alive
