1. Metroid Prime
Yeah, I've already said just about everything I've ever wanted to say about Prime. It's God's gift to speedrunners. It's a console FPS with glorious, complete single-player focus in every aspect (including the somewhat contoversial controls). It's a first-person action/adventure in which navigation itself is a wonderful puzzle. Brilliant level design, brilliant presentation, brilliant score, brilliant enemy and boss design... it's just plain goddamn brilliant.
Can't wait to see if the successor to my #2 can actually top it.
