I doubt that sony will beat microsoft in the usa in the long run. Both of them can have a price cut next year but i was saying microsoft has a bigger chance of doing it first since the console costs more. I remember reading an article where microsoft was breaking even with the xbox one. No money was being lost. I heard that rumor of a new xbox version aswell. It could be a version without kinect and a bigger HDD for $400 who knows. I have a feeling titanfall will be a huge selling games like halo and its gonna move consoles. Plus this time around microsoft has alot more 1st party studios and we all know games move consoles. That will have an impact in the sales aswell. I believe thats the reason why ps3 sold out the xbox 360. All those exclusives made people buy a ps3. This gen is gonna be better than the previous. More exclusives for both and bother have better hardware. If you dont own both you will miss out on alot of great exclusives.

It's not like the Playstation brand isn't big in the USA, PS1 and PS2 did dominate back in the day, and PS3 did fairly well too.

Guess we heard different rumors. Only time will tell in the end, but you have to agree the PS4-XBO gap in USA will be smaller then the PS3-360 gap (or in favor of PS4).

Don't forget X360 had A LOT of exclusives at the start too. Maybe not as many studios, but in terms of the sheer number of exclusives (even if you ignore timed ones), 360 had more exclusives then XBO. Who's to say exclusive support won't dwindle on XBO like it did on 360? I mean Sony's biggest studios were still primarily supporting PS3 in 2013, don't you think in the future PS4 will get a lot of exclusives too?

P.S. PS3 didn't top the 360 in the number of exclusives until 2011 This was 6 years after the 360 launched, we can't estimate what's going to happen 6 years down the road for XBO/PS4.

P.P.S. - Competition makes better products. PS4/XBO are better because of each other, and I agree with you about owning multiple consoles. I'm sticking to PC/PS4/WiiU for now, but before the 8th gen ends, if they sell XBO's without Kinect, I will get one. I don't want to miss out

The playstation brand is big worldwide. Sony has been in the game longer than microsoft. The USA will be great for both but the gap wont be that big. X360 did have more exclusives from the start but most were third party....meaning they weren't set on stone. Many came to pc after and some to ps3. Alot of gamers knew exclusive games on xbox sometimes ended up on pc so i assume they just waited for a pc version. Ps3 on the other hand had alot more real exclusives. As i said before microsoft has more 1st party studios than before. Unless they close them all down (i doubt) they will keep pumping out games for the xbox one. This time around its different for both consoles. Isn't it easier to pirate dvd games instead of blu ray games? i dont know much about pirating games but xbox 360 games got pirated to an extreme. Pirating caused alot of games to sell poorly. We will see 3 or 4 years from now if they are still creating games for it.

I think PS4 still has a shot at topping the XBO lifetime in USA. Even if we hear XBO outsold PS4 in 2013, I still think PS4 will win in this region.

As for 360 games being ported to PC/PS3, I didn't know most 360 games would do that when I bought my 360. I bought my 360 before my PS3 in January 2007, and I bought it largely for Gears of War (ported to PC) and Lost Planet (timed exclusive). I feel MS didn't have that "characteristic" back in 2007. Now I feel most gamers expect 3rd party XBO games to be timed (hence all the controversy over Titanfall).

As for pirating games, what's your point? Illegally copies software doesn't affect hardware sales. Heck if it's easier to pirate DVD games on 360, wouldn't that boost hardware sales? This should reduce the tie ratio (# of games sold per console) too.

Anyway, we will see, right now it's far too early to tell anything. Even if XBO falls behind PS4 in USA, Halo 5 could be a game changer, and some goes in the other direction with Uncharted.

First of all sorry for the late replay. Life problems. (*sigh*)

Im only gonna say something about the pirating games. I was just saying thats why some games sold poorly on xbox 360. It had nothing to do with hardware sales. As far as i know pirating games on xbox 360 was/is very easy. From what i was told by others you could have a chip installed on your xbox 360 to play pirated games. Could you do that on ps3?

I am sure halo 5 will help boost console sales. If i remember correctly there were over 500,000k xbox 360 consoles sold the day halo 3 launched (USA only) I am sure halo 5 would do something similar.

You do not remember correctly. 360 sold around 130k in the USA the week Halo 3 launched. A 19% boost from the previous week. Globally it did 230k (a 40% boost)

You must have missed that article on Gamespot then. I remember reading it correctly. Microsoft said it themselves.

Did you know ps4 only supports a 2.4 wireless signal?

The xbox one supports a wireless adapter capable of 2.4 - 5.0ghz.

The ONLY next gen console to do so.
