i thought kindles were jsut for reading books. Even their screen is designed to be like paper almost to make it easier on the eye to read. |
There are Kindle e-readers that are for reading, but I was referring to the Kindle HDX which is essentially an Android tablet with an Amazon skin (called Fire OS). It is "limited" in some respects compared with standard Android tablets (like no access to the Google Play Store - only the Amazon store), but it is heavily subsidized by Amazon. They have great parental controls, and the Amazon "Mayday" button is really good for people who are not tech savvy.
