John, do you still read Malstrom?

Not as much as I used to.
But I still check him out sometimes.

He has A LOT of insight on the videogaming business & I enjoy his views even if I don't agree entirely with all of them.
I thought his writing on the Theory of Cycles was DEAD ON. I thought it was BRILLIANT.
How it explains game development at different eras: Tabletop, Arcade, Cinematic, Social/Interactive.
I believe that is a FACT not just a theory the way he explained it.

At the start of the 7th generation, I wish I did things the same way he did & just wrote indepedently instead of backing that stupid horse called Popzart/Popzara.
My money was not strong enough & I wanted a site that I could keep funded independently so it could last for years & years in the infamous imperanance of the World Wide Web. I have never liked the impermanence of the internet.
I hate how good sites with good information can just disappear out of the blue just like that & all of it is lost forever.
So I thought working with that Popzart/Popzara organization would help me achieve that goal.
Hindsight & that 20/20...... *Sigh*

Well something good came out of that fiasco.
When I had VGChartz team up with Popzara a few years ago, I interviewed Sean Malstrom.
Here's the VGChartz version of that interview.

P.S.: Maybe I should check out his latest observations. Maybe we can do another interview independently right here on VGChartz.
