Yeah man, but the obviously flawed assumption made here in these articles is that soon, the Nintendo fad will die down, and the Wii will begin to be outpaced by other consoles.  "How many of those consoles are going to gamers"

 

That's past tense. It's not as if the Wii isn't still destroying everything on the market in sales of hardware and software.

 

Every good 3rd party game released has sold as well as expected, and certainly much better than they would have sold on the gamecube.

 

It's obviously incorrect, the assertion that Nintendo has hurt itself with the Wii or the DS, in fact, they probably saved the Nintendo brand now, and far into the future.

 

The point is, articles like this use generalizations based on assumptions that have been disproven time and time again, and are written only to be controversial, to marginalize the Wii, and to hook passers by with their morbid assertions that Nintendo is a "victim" or what have you.

 

The simple fact is, Nintendo is the most sucessful company in gaming, always have been. Now, they are also far and away the highest selling and most popular. All decent 3rd party games, and lots of shitty ones have sold very well on the system, and if their performance were a test, and their results in a snapshot were any indication, Nintendo passes with flying colors.

 

I know you would agree.
