It sounds like an adman's biggest dream: to be able to look directly into the living rooms of the viewers of his advertisements and record their reactions and responses. 

It is one of the potential options, Microsoft sees in Kinect on Xbox One, Microsoft's Yusuf Mehdi said in a speech at a conference for marketers this weekend. 

According to Mehdi, via Kinect Microsoft can see if a viewer's attention is actually focused on tv commercials and measure how the body react using the infrared camera. 

Considering how much skepticism that Kinect already has seen, it is hardly an idea that hardcore gamers will welcome with open arms.
