He's been doing this for years. I'd say that windows dominance of desktops is ample reason to say that MSFT still holds monopoly control, arguably much stronger than Google.
Thankfully, the market is starting to shift AWAY from Microsoft with the growth of mobile computing but we're still a long way off from where we need to be.
