I saw that thread of Gameranking's top remakes of all-time and I noticed there were many J-RPGs, so I decided to do something similar but with the top J-RPGs of All-Time. All of them have 10+ reviews, if a game is multiplatform, I used the highest score of all the versions of the game:

  • Chrono Trigger (SNES) - 95.64%
  • Persona 4 Golden (PSV, PS2)- 94.16%
  • Final Fantasy III (SNES) - 93.96%
  • Final Fantasy IX (PS)- 93.32%
  • Final Fantasy VII (PS) - 92.35%
  • Chrono Crosss (PS) - 92.18%
  • Vagrant Story (PS) - 91.97
  • Xenoblade Chronicles (WII) - 91.74
  • Final Fantasy X (PS2) - 91.73%
  • Pokemon Silver Version (GBC) - 91.35
  • Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (DS) - 91.01
  • Xenogears (PS) - 90.99%
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 (PSP, PS2) - 90.77%
  • Final Fantasy XII (PS2) - 90.77%
  • Skies of Arcadia (DC) - 90.59%
  • Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (GBA) - 90.50%
  • Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (PS2) - 90.05%
  • Demon's Souls (PS3) - 89.72%
  • Final Fantasy VIII (PS) - 89.17%
  • Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (SNES) - 89.12%
The only games of this generation are Xenoblade Chronicles and Demon's Souls.
A lot of them are PlayStation 1 games (6 out of 20)
