It's unlikely that the player price drop would effect the PS3's price, as the PS3 is already loosing hundreds with each unit out the door. They're probably quite right when they say we won't see a price cut until 2009. As for the cheaper player having an effect on PS3 sales. I have a feeling they'll hoping it will be the other way around. If this cheaper player helps them win the format war over HD-DVD, PS3 sales should pick up considerably.
